LOSTPROPHETS AT HOUSE OF BLUES-LOS ANGELES

I had never really known too much about the Lostprophets till about two
days before their House of Blues show here in Los Angeles, when their publicist
sent me the CD and press kit. So, of course the first thing I think
when I start reading through the articles, is oh my god, they are all gorgeous.
And, the second thing I thought, but can they play just as good?
When my photographer and I arrived at the
venue, the first thing I couldn’t help but notice was all the women in
attendance. Talk about a huge female fanbase. These guys must
have to beat them off with a stick(no pun intended). But, I had every
intention of giving this band a chance to prove that they are more than
just pretty faces.
I already liked what I heard from the CD, but when they came out and played
it was even better. They began with the very first song on their
latest CD(Start Something) “We still know the Old Way”, and I must say
it was great way to open. These guys have great energy and presence.
They decided to go in order and just went right into the following song
“To Hell we Ride.” Keyboardist Jamie Oliver helps out on vocals,
and his rough screams are a nice compliment to singer Ian Watkins more
sweeter sounding voice.
“Last Train Home”, was the definite sing
a long song of the night. It really is a quintessential rock song.
It has a little bit of everything. And the chorus is quite catchy
and infectious!
I was really taken by the enthusiasm and excitement of the audience.
It was what rock shows should be like. I love watching fans go crazy
for a band, it’s almost as fun as watching the band themselves. At
one point, a girl(a very young girl), saw me directing my photog to capture
a certain shot, and looks over at me and says : “Do you know them?”
I replied “Sorry, I don’t.” She must have not believed me, because
she then offered me money, if I take her back after the show and introduce
her. You mean I could of made a killing that night!? WELL,
LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL!

the lostprophets are really great, and they have their own unique style which i really like about them. they are not the generation's typical Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, and they do not try to copy Linkin Park. These guys are real, so if you have anyithing bad to say about them, dont bother posting any comments about them, YOU GUYS RULE! IAN YOUR THE SEXIEST MAN ALIVE! I think Lostprophets are one of the greatest bands out there and they can obviously make music and Ian sure can sing I love them so much that instead of going to buzzfest I'm going to see them in November on the Nintendo Fusion tour and the way y'all talk about they're shows I am so much more excited. I really have to thank them for turning me into rock music and getting my head out of that sh*t they call cool personally I think rock is so much better because it has actual meaning and depth compared to that sh*t they call "connecting with the fans" but rock hits so many emotions instead of just breaking up with a girl on 13 different tracks.

I saw them at the house of blues the may 14,show they are amazing live they bring sooo much energy they rock.IAN IS SO HOT.cant wait till they come back.

lostprophets are amazin i saw them back in february in cardiff i was in the front row and i loved every second ov standing streight infront of mike lewis he iz so fit lostprophets ROCK so hard i love em!

One of the few "rap-rock/nu-metal/nu-emo" bands I can still listen to. I saw them back in May and they put on a very good show.

lucky you (well, as long as they didnt wanna marry'em or sumthin) the shows i went to hardly had any girls there at all, but lotsa guys moshing...been to a lot of shows and in many moshpits, butn those ones were f****g murder... but really awesome aswell...

I saw these guys after they released their first cd. They have some of the best stage presence of any band I have ever seen. It was an amazing show. Luckily it was before they got so huge so it was at a small music venue.

First time i saw them was at the HOB in LA 3 years ago when they opened for Hoobastank. It was their first show in LA and I felt they were the best band that night, doing great for unknowns. Though they have become a little more emo-minded, Ive been a fan since then.
