and this is what has happned? This is what this page has become? I feel
like killing myself because of this. No, actually I'm having the time of
my life right now telling people about last night. I saw the Foo Fighters
in concert and all I have to say is wow...such awesome talent...so crowd
oriented. Oh and by the way, Dave Grohl can scream, I mean SCREAM! My ears
are still ringing. I know this is a linkin park review page, but yea check
out the Foo Fighters live. They are a great rock band. Not metal, but awesome.

Some of those bands you mentioned are not metal. You're too young to have

A DOWN (thrash metal, I don't consider them nu metal and neither does the
band), Dog Fashion Disco (thrash metal), Godsmack, BLACK SABBATH (the metal
gods), Fear Factory, Helmet, Machine Head, Sepultra, Static-X, Soulfly,
Orgy and a lot of other bands...I just don't want to name all of them cause
I'm too damn lazy...And do me a favor Pop_Music_is_Better, get the hell
off of this site before Slayers demons will gulp and tear you down. P.S.

the infamous "YOOUUUUUUUUUU" on every f*cking song gets a little annoying
after a while. hybrid theory was ok because it was a newcomer, but this
album is so pathetic. i heard these guys took a year or more off to make

Hmmm: Despite this reviewer and everybody who
is against this album, I like Meteora. Linkin Park said that they wanted
to make a newer more mature sound. It's nice to know that Linkin Park are
not like some other bands that like to sound repetative and get good recognition
for it. They have more behind their music than just mere sonic inventions.
However, I think Hybrid Theory is a better album and still is on my top
ten CD list. Also, Meteora is not sophmore trash. They but lots of hard
work into making this CD. I also think it sounds more mature than Hybrid
Theory despite the fact that Hybrid Theory is better. I would rate this
CD 3.5 stars.

aol sn: sugaf1y15: linkin park is one of my all time favorite
bands. They have a different sound than anyone else and the 2 lead singers
are cute, but thats way besides the point. I love all types of music and
they really know how to put every type together and make it sound like
something...something really great! both of their albums are good the first
was more of a hit tho...oh well they are my boys!

sound is best described as Sludge mixed with Old School Metal (Sabbath,
Zeppelin, et al)I would suggest checking out "Nola" or "Down II: A Bustle
in Your Hedgerow". Both are very good albums.

I have to dissagree here. You dont know their motives, and, yea, if I was
writing songs and trying to make money, sell would be on my mind too. But,
they way you discribe them as "a boy band with gituars" doesn't come close.
You could call Blink 182 A "boy band with gituars" not Linkin Park. I love
the sheer emoition they put into their singing, and the Japanese flute
mix was very nice. But, we are all entitaled to our opionions, yes?

Faint: Although I disagree with most of what
you said in the article, I appreciate the way you said it in a semi-calm
manner as opposed to most writers who just "bash" the whole time. I LOVED
Hybrid Theory and I have been a fan of Linkin Park for about 2 1/2 years
now. I also loved Meteora. I will admit it was not AS good, but that opinion
of mine could have sprung from an "attachment" I might have on the 1st
album from before the band was "popular". Either way, I couldn't help noticing
you kept pointing out about LP trying to make music to fit the mainstream...
well that sorta implies selling out right?...eh well they didn't. They
spent almost 2 years writing and recording a HARD worked on album. That
deserves credit unlike those bands that put out a record every year. It's
hard to make an album almost the exact as the previous. But who wants to
anyway? LP is about expirimenting with their creative musical styles so
it came as no surprise that they would 1) release a remix album more in
the hip-hop genre and 2) Create Meteora with the same basis as HT but add
its on unique features on it. I think the album turned out better than
you reviewed it. But each to his/her own.

at it? I never heard of him or his little academy. He lost me when he talked
about playing electronica. Love that quote from the streets when asked
about an electronica group, "this isn't music, it's fashion." If it wasn't
for ecstacy no one would listen to that crap or "house" music. PS Music
can most definitely be over produced. That's when it appears the producer
has more of the creative input than the band or artist and engineers hits.
ala Linkin Park. And is it any shock that the same A&R guy who "found"
linkin park aslo found Limp Bizkit and Macy Gravel-throat Gray?
